How-to Enjoy the Queen City of South – Cebu in 3 Ways

Cebu is a famous place known for the historical Magellan’s Cross, and delicious delicacies like dried mangoes and dried fish. It is located in Central Visayas and also dubbed as the Queen City of the South. There are a lot of things to do when you are visiting Cebu from events, to food, to people, and to places. Here are 3 ways you can enjoy your stay in Cebu.

Go nature trekking. Visit the highest peak at Osmeña Peak(s) at Mantalungon, Dalaguete. This is a 3-hour ride by bus from Cebu proper. Go bring your travel buddy and dare to camp atop with a for a minimal entrance fee of Php 15.00. Just make sure you brought the necessary camping equipments (tent, cook set, burner) and enough food to survive the cold night. Then you can go trek towards Kawasan Falls the following day and swim your stress in the clear waters.

Go for a day tour around within the city. There are historical places you can easily visit within Cebu City such as Magellan’s Cross, Basilica del Sto. Niño, Fort San Pedro, and Plaza Independencia. These places can be easily reached on foot. Do check out the Internet for the specific locations. You can do this by yourself or if you prefer with a tourist guide.

Go dance. Cebu has a lot of hang-out places you can go to. However, there is a special place that is internationally recognized due to its recent YouTube success – the dancing inmates from CPDRC (Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center). They are open to the public as of this writing.

There are a lot of things you can do to enjoy your stay in Cebu like eating barbeque at Larsian or buying dried fish at Tabo-an. The list goes on and that depends on the itinerary that you plan when you travel in Cebu.
